15 November 2009 - We, the Leaders of APEC, gathered in Singapore and marked twenty years of cooperation in promoting economic growth and prosperity for our people. In line with new trends and emerging challenges, our agenda has grown in breadth, depth, and complexity. But our common goal remains the same – to support growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region, through free and open trade and investment, as embedded in the Bogor Goals.

15 November 2009 - AAs part of Singapore’s endeavour to deliver a memorable ‘Singapore Experience’, the APEC Organising Committee planned a two-day visit programme for the spouses of Leaders attending the APEC Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) from 14-15 November 2009. The Leaders’ spouses were hosted by Mrs Lee Hsien Loong, spouse of Singapore’s Prime Minister.

14 November 2009 - Leaders of the 21 APEC economies began discussions at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) in a Retreat Session held at the Istana, Singapore. The two-day Retreat, chaired by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, centred around the APEC 2009 theme of “Sustaining Growth, Connecting the Region”.
