12 Nov 2009 - Minister Yeo: Ladies and gentlemen of the media, thank you for joining us this afternoon. We've had 3 days of quite intensive discussions. Starting with a high level symposium on Tuesday, which was attended by ministers who were present at the beginning 20 years ago in Canberra, and also Prime Minister Bob Hawke, who as the Prime Minister of Australia at that time, launched APEC in November 1989 and that gave us a longitudinal view of how APEC has evolved over the years and how it has helped to usher in what is likely to be the Asia Pacific century.

12 Nov 2009 - First of all, thank you very much for coming today. I think we have media here from a wide range of countries. Thank you for taking our meeting seriously. I can tell you that we’ve had very good discussions today, starting with the private retreat of Ministers in the morning, and followed by a couple of very useful plenary sessions on issues which all our member economies find critical in one way or another as we try to chart a path out of this crisis, and a path towards sustained growth over the medium to long term.
